When I came to the computer, I had left the browser open and it was hung up on a site I was looking at last night. So I closed it and opened it back up after a couple of minutes. It asked me to select a user account. I've never set up any accounts, so this seemed wierd. When I tried to open default, it told me that it was already in use and I should create a new account. So I thought I'd give that a shot. A new Firefox window opened, but without any of my settings (of course). But when I tried to import bookmarks, etc., it found my old Netscape ones and put those in. I restarted the computer, determined to get to my usual profile. When I started up Firefox again, I was able to log on with the old default (my usual) settings.

That was odd, but what has me concerned is losing my settings and bookmarks. I just ordered a new computer and I want to be able to install Firefox the way I like it. But I can't seem to find a way to export settings and bookmarks. Am I missing something here?

Everything worked correctly after installing these extensions.

The problem happened when I tried installing 1.7. It told me their were third party apps. that it would remove before installing the new version to get rid of any complications that may occur so I allowed it to, then it proceeded to install itself. When I tried opening it up, it loaded the splash screen and that was it. The app. just hanged and never loaded. I tried uninstalling 1.7 and reverting back to 1.6 but it was too late, neither one will work for me now. I have tons of bookmarks I'm really not looking forward to losing, so if any of you can help me in any way, I'd really appreciate it so much! Thank you.
