I've been using Mozilla for a long time, before Firefox came out. When it did come out though, I didn't switch to it because the Mozilla team were still updating Mozilla. Then it became such a huge deal to use Firefox. I finally checked it out, but I couldn't really see anything that it offered that Mozilla didn't. Can anyone tell me what it offers that Mozilla doesn't? I'm clueless.

I am not sure, but I think that there are tons and tons of add ons that are only made for Firefox, which after all is just the latest version of the program (ain't it?).
See if it's possible to do some of the stuff that you an do for Firebird that I don't know if you can do with Mozilla. Like, the dictionary add-on, where you can outline any word on a page, and then right-click on it to choose to search for a definition.
Let us know.

Re: Mozilla and Firefox, what's the difference?
Sat, March 5, 2005 - 11:18 PMfirefox is just the browser portion of the mozilla suite. mozilla is the browser, email and irc client, and basic html editing.
firefox is smaller and runs faster.

Re: Mozilla and Firefox, what's the difference?
Sun, March 6, 2005 - 8:56 PMIn addition to what everyone else has said, I've heard that development on Mozilla either has or will soon more or less stop, with future development efforts focusing on Firefox. -

Ah - that's right.
I read a story about it in Wired. Mozilla was this huge monster with tons of programs on it, so this 15 year old kid knocked it down to just Firefox, and now people are adding all sorts of cool shit to it.

Re: Mozilla and Firefox, what's the difference?
Mon, March 7, 2005 - 2:25 AMOh yeah, I remember reading that too! I'm so sad to hear that Mozilla will be gone. I know Firefox has add-ons, but so did Mozilla. I think one of the main reasons why it became so popular is because of its simplicity compared to IE. The same people that use (or used) IE may be more willing to switch to something like Firefox which has an inviting feel and simple user-friendlyness to it, where as Mozilla may take a little getting used to. Anyway, I guess eventually I'll have to switch to Firefox, but until they stop updating Mozilla, I will use her till the end! Ok, that sounded kinda mean, but you all get what I'm saying. ;)

Re: Mozilla and Firefox, what's the difference?
Mon, March 7, 2005 - 6:17 AMThe main reason I switched from Mozilla to Firefox is so when the browser crashes, it doesn't crash the mail client with it (and vice versa).
I don't get that many crashes anymore though, especially with Thunderbird.
